A Love Letter to a Writer’s Wife
This poem that comes in the form of a letter from a writer to his wife has some lessons for both the writer and his wife. Hope you enjoy reading it.
Dear my lovely wife, friend and companion
In good and bad times
The womb to bear name of my bloodline
The word warriors to inhibit earth
The breast to nourish the minds that will pen the world
The fingers that will feed the minds that will think the world
I swear to be a devoted husband
Not just the head, but the leader and protector of our family
The chest that warms you at night
The touch that soothes your pain and the hands that feed our family
I will take the kids to school and out for weekends
With you I will be your helper and cherish you for who you are
In the parks we will walk hand in hand
In the shades you will rest on my shoulders
I will climb the highest mountain for you
I will dive the deepest trench for you
There is nothing I wouldn’t do for you
All I ask of you is….
You can clean my study but leave the books where they are
Please respect my reading and writing time
Please respect my time alone -For self reflection and renewal
You are all I need in this lonely, imaginary world
Filled with contagious imaginations
And countless fantasies
My dear wife,
I have nothing valuable to give you but a heart that is committed to loving you.....................
It is written
