Why I regret accepting face book friend I never met
Being a regular user of face book, I often hear complaints from my face book friends and family. Let me be a bit more precise here. My girlfriend, my colleagues at work place, even my nieces and nephews or even my grumpy looking old boss complains about this. Just the other day when I was passing by his office, I found his door ajar and I stole a glance. Guess what? I was lucky enough to be rewarded with a hub topic. Lolz. I was inspired to write this hub from my unusual encounter with my boss
“Hi friends and family, I appreciate our relationship but I would be glad if you don’t post or link unnecessary things or links that doesn’t concern me. I regard this as spam if you do. Thanks for understanding and complying”
I too have my share of anger and complain about accepting a woman from Dubai who tended out to be the most annoying creature to me in face book. Few seconds after acceptance, the grouchy old women started bombarding my wall with all sorts of pictures and links. I was a bit concern because I keep a clean reputation on-line as a freelance writer and an on-line entrepreneur.
OK. No offence but the horrible creature dumped garbage on my face book wall.
The poor me has reap what I sowed.
Advice from friends
Open Friends tabs, find the friend you want to delete and click the X button to remove her and she won’t be able to see your profile any more.
Unfortunately, this technique didn’t work. So I directly in boxed her the same message above but addressed to her and I even told her that message I posted on my wall was intended for her eyes.
Nothing changed. She kept sending crap to my wall for almost a week. I asked friends how I can effectively handle this old woman. Many told me to simply remove her from my friend list something I literary felt guilty of doing.
Tell a helpful lie to save yourself & your friend
How do you do it? Simple tell your friend you deactivated your account to have some time on important things. This lie is helpful in a way that if your friend see you turning to something productive than wasting time on Facebook, he can follow you and that's even better. You saved you both.
What if they asked you why you did that?
The women I removed never asked me this question because i don't know her personally and that we live far from each other so it was OK. What if its someone you know personally and live close to each to each other?
I have something special for you. A Facebook song
Where is the basic human respect?
I guess you found the video hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing my head off. Here we are back yo our question, Where is the basic human respect?
Dealing with a friend on Facebook as compared to dealing with a friend face to face greatly differs. Even some very good people are become devil in face book. I see good people swearing and cursing under the cover of face book...
If you were at a party for instance and your friend becomes a nuisance, would you just completely remove her from your friend list? I am sure you wont in many case. You will threat them with some respect. You see how I did it to the women you pissed me off completely?
Apparently basic human respect does not apply to Face book, MSN-SMS-Bebo-Twitter and many other social networking sites.
Take for instance, when a person gets enough of chatting with a friend on, he might just walk away from living the other person on the other end guessing. Would yo do that if you were face to face with chatting with your friend. No, you won't
Bit of advice
You should threat your on-line and off-line friends the way you wanted to be treated.
On-line socializing tends to be more ruthless because it's anonymous and impersonal and you hide comfortably and hurt your friends. You are either not a human being or or if your are, than let me have this liberty to advice you that you are still undergoing evolutionary process of developing from primates to man.
